Ever heard of a fake culture? If you are not being true to yourself in all aspects of your life, you’re living in a fake culture.
Want people to be accountable? Then be accountable to them. Encourage people to speak up and not be afraid. Not everything you hear will be good news—but if someone is afraid to speak up, they’ll never embrace being accountable.
Being thoughtful means taking an interest in yourself, your family, your employees - everyone. That's why we must to take a step back, so we can move forward.
There's a big difference between process and people. It's absolutely vital that you know the difference so that you can manage them better.
Being straightforward means not playing games and focusing on everyone's success. You can still be tough, but you must also be honest, direct, candid, transparent, and most of all - fair.
The power of truth lies in our ability to embrace it. When we embrace it - all new possibilities open up to us.
We have all lied at some point in our lives, even if it’s one of those “little white lies” you told your mother.
None of us grows up and then suddenly starts lying. We develop a tendency toward telling fibs – and outward lies – at early age. Study after study shows that most us have lied at some point during our lives. By the time we’re adults, many people have made an art out of avoiding the truth.
What would happen if everyone had a fearless reaction to Quality? Imagine what we could accomplish; the problems that we could resolve in business, our personal lives, and in government.
When I ask people, “what does Quality mean to you?” I hear a wide range of answers. For some people, their answer is, “Quality means putting out the best product or service possible.” Others may say, “Honesty and trust.” Many will tell you, “Quality means doing the right thing at the right time.” Still others will say, “Quality is a resistance to compromise.” However, more often than not, I still hear “ I have no idea, that’s why we have a quality department,” or “Hey let me ask my Vice President of Quality,” or even worse yet, “I’m not sure what quality means to me.”
I would like to see a day when we don’t hesitate about our response toward Quality.
Ideally, I would like to see a day when we don’t hesitate about our response toward Quality; when everyone has a fearless reaction to Quality just like they do with everyday events. Bottom line, everyone, needs make Quality a priority, and a part of everything they do. When we all understand the impact of our actions, how even the smallest action may pay enormous dividends, then that leads to the path of true quality: preventing human error; possessing the kind of oversight and engrained thought that corrects misjudgments before they have a chance to trigger problems.
What a world this could be if we all were that much more attentive; that much more in tune, and truly understood and believed the dramatic impact that Quality can have on all of us!
